One of Huntington Beach’s longest-running beauty establishments: the GWC salon. As you advance in your coursework, you become eligible to work in the salon, under faculty supervision. It brings home your lessons, prepares you for the state licensing exam, and makes you more confident on your first day in your new career.

Beauty School at GWC
Step by Step in Cosmetology
Start your GWC cosmetology program in summer, fall, winter, or spring. From your start date on, you and your classmates work through the four levels of cosmetology training until you are well-prepared for the state exam.
Your instructors walk you through the theory and watch over you as you try your hand in the lab salon. You learn:
- Health & safety
- Texture & sculpting
- Natural hair
- Chemical hair services
- Hair coloring
- Facials & manicures
- Long hair & wig design
In a little less than a year, you will be ready for your first job with the scissors in hand.
Art & Science of Esthetics
Start your Esthetician training at GWC in summer or winter. It’s a full-time program for 16 weeks. You learn:

- Eyelash extensions
- Chemical peels
Follow your esthetics dream in our part-time evening program that starts each fall. You’ll take the same courses as the full-time program, Monday through Thursday starting at 5 p.m. It will take the whole academic year to prep for the state license exam.
