Will My Associate's Degree Transfer?

Yes, your Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree will be accepted at most public and private universities; however, each school decides how your GWC coursework fulfills its requirements. Golden West also has 30 Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADTs) that offer guaranteed admission to a California State University campus.

Here’s what you can do for a smoother transfer:

Tell your GWC counselor you plan to transfer.
Connect with the GWC Transfer Center.
Join the Transfer Academy to get specialized support.
Take math and English courses in your major early.

Guaranteed CSU Admission Options

Earn your Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T) degree at GWC to earn guaranteed admission to a California State University (CSU or Cal State). You gain:

Junior standing in the CSU system
Priority consideration at local CSU campuses, including special agreement with CSUF that guarantees transfer for eligible students with a 2.8 GPA
Priority consideration for majors that match your GWC program
